A strategic plan is the foundation of every organization, operating without one is a recipe for failure as the organization operates without vision, objectives and strategy. A strategic plan informs the organization activities and operations in a well thought out manner and using agreed strategies. The participatory strategic planning process involving all conferences is key as it leads to ownership of decisions by all member conferences hence buy in or implementation of projects and programmes agreed will be effective. IMBISA is currently undertaking an inclusive participatory strategic planning process towards the development of its 2017-2019 Strategic Plan. The purpose of the consultations is to get input from all commissions and departments within Conferences before the main strategic planning workshop scheduled to take place early next year when the new Standing Committee takes office after the 11th Plenary Assembly in November in Maseru. The consultations will lead to a consolidated report which will be used to draw a framework for the strategic planning workshop so that the plan is reflective, representative and responsive to Conferences needs and priorities.
